Qualitative and quantitative information on protein aging
Upon processing and storage proteins can be subject to deamidation of asparagine and glutamine residues. The products may exhibit different immunogenic or allergenic properties, and therefore knowledge about this is detrimental for protein drugs. The susceptibility of an amino acid to deamidation is highly site-specific which makes it necessary to resolve which residues are affected to which extent.
